Oxford Business Networking Group

We’re getting set for another big week next week with our first ever partnered Networking in…

We’re delighted to work with South & Vale Business Support to bring a new Oxford Business Networking group with Networking in… on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 10.30 am.

What’s prompted the new Oxford Business Networking Group group?

We’ve known for a while that an alternative time slot was needed for our network, as the pre-9 am sessions don’t work for everyone. With SVBS sponsorship, we are now able to fulfil that need. I will also invite Nick and his team to update members on local initiatives and advice to support local businesses.

The first event is set to be a sell-out, with tickets sold already and some significant interest. We’ll welcome Mike Lawton to the gang to discuss “Working the Media”. Mike is a serial entrepreneur and previously worked at the BBC. He’ll share some tips using real-life examples on how to work with the media without any budget.

What Can Networkers Expect?

The new Oxford-based networking group will follow the same format as other Networking in… events. Enabling new members to introduce themselves, a series of larger and smaller breakout rooms, and a guest speaker each session (affectionately known as a local hero). The events are high-energy, fast-paced, and fun. We pride ourselves on being the ‘Friendliest Networking Group’ in our corner of the internet.

We believe we have a winning format that enables competitor businesses to attend freely without competing for business in each breakout room. As well as mixing up the rooms so that each visitor doesn’t meet with the same people multiple times. As a result, there are no requirements to be the only person attending from your industry, no complicated rules, and each person gets the most from their experience.

We’ve found a loyal tribe of business owners from South Oxfordshire to Dorset, Wiltshire to Surrey, Berkshire to North Oxfordshire, with regular attendees and members from France, Uganda and Spain. Although tricky to adapt to when Covid first struck, the online business networking concept is becoming increasingly popular. With geographical boundaries no longer a barrier, our members started coming from further afield and from all walks of life.
