Are you a future Marketing Superstar who’s destined for greatness?
Have you got a passion for digital marketing, a desire to learn YouTube and a belief that gaining valuable, real-life work experience will help you get ahead of the pack?
If you answered yes, please keep reading, as you could be what we’re looking for…
Hi, we’re Oi, and we’re looking to develop someone just like you. Someone who’s got an absolute burning passion for Marketing and someone who wants to learn by doing with the safety of knowing that they can make mistakes, try things out and fail without recourse. (after all, our channel couldn’t be any worse 🙂 We’re an extremely friendly, international family of 5, who punch well above our weight from a Marketing perspective, and we need some help turning our underperforming YouTube channel into something worthy of its content.
About Us
“A small business is an amazing way to serve and leave an impact on the world you live in.” – Nicole Snow
We’re an entrepreneurial business support organisation that runs Networking events (Networking in… (Ni…)), Mastermind Groups (Mastermind9 (M9)), and Business Coaching (Outside ideas (Oi)) for Small Business Owners. We’re on a mission to help people and businesses grow.
About you
“It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do” – Steve Jobs
First things first, you’re a “people person.” You just have that knack for getting on with others.
Customer service is a passion, and you revel in knowing that you’ve done a great job for your customers and other team members.
You pride yourself on your attention to detail, you have a fantastic memory and proven ability to spin many plates (and avoid breakages). When you drop one, you’re the type to hold your hand up, clean up and move on.
You’re a true starter finisher. A job’s not done until it’s done (properly). You love diving into new projects and won’t stop until you see that job completed.
You LOVE to learn. Whether it’s delving into new software, figuring out how something works or making continuous improvements. Personal and professional development is really important to you.
You’ve got a natural flair for creativity, design and copy.
You’ve got an undeniable love and fascination with marketing and a desire to be a future leader in the field. You know that if you work hard now, it will benefit you hugely in the years to come.
The Role
“I grew up watching YouTube and I started making content at a really young age. It’s really something I enjoy doing.” – Mr Beast
This is a new role for Outside ideas which has come about from a realisation that our YouTube channel, despite the amazing content, SUCKS.
We have over 90 videos, with extremely valuable content from some of the world’s great authors. Our most famous guest was Hal Elrod, who has sold more than 2.5 million books.
Our team is fully utilised and lacks the time and expertise to optimise our channel, so we’re looking for someone who wants to learn on the job and get better as they go.
You’ll need to be completely passionate about digital marketing and want to learn how to make a YouTube channel take off.
You’ll need to have a creative streak and be comfortable making eye-catching thumbnails using Canva or Photoshop.
You’ll need to have basic video editing skills and a desire to learn and improve.
You’ll need to be 100% fluent in English, with it as your first language, extremely high attention to detail, a first-class work ethic, and a burning desire to be a future name in marketing.
Some of the stuff you’ll be responsible for:
“I’m not perfect; I make mistakes all the time. All I can do is try my best, to learn from my mistakes, take responsibility for them, and do a better job tomorrow.” – Lana
This is an unpaid internship with the potential to earn bonuses for achieving key milestones.
You’ll be responsible for taking our grossly underperforming YouTube channel and turning it into something special.
You might decide to start over completely and create an entirely new channel, or you might decide to use what we have and make it better. We’ll leave you to do the research and decide whats best.
You’ll need to edit the videos, create shorts from the content and repurpose what we have.
You’ll need to create clickbait-style thumbnails and be prepared to optimise each video for the search engines.
Training and development
“Train your people so well they could work anywhere, treat them so well they wouldn’t want to” – Richard Branson
We develop our people, if you’ve got gaps, we’ll help you fill them. But to succeed with us, you’ll need to demonstrate a growth mindset and be open to reading/watching / listening to the stuff that will help you improve your capabilities.
Our Values
“If you hire people just because they can do a job, they’ll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood, sweat and tears”. – Simon Sinek
It’s our belief that a winning culture is at the heart of every successful organisation. With that in mind, here’s what we stand for:
G – Growth Mindset – Our People and our clients grow by developing ourselves
R – Relationships – Our business thrives on our relationships with our team, clients and suppliers.
