The year has passed by at lightning speed. It’s unbelievable that we are at the tail end of it. As a business owner, this juncture is the ideal time to leverage the law of attraction for business success
Here’s the thing – We become what we think about.
To illustrate this, I will tell you a fascinating story…
Back in 1995, an ambitious man created a vision board. He put up a picture of everything that he wanted to achieve, like a sleek watch, an opulent car, a welcoming home, and a harmonious family.
Every day like clockwork, he would sit in his office and visualise the dream, conjuring it up as though it were already a part of his reality.
Five years later, the man bought a house and renovated it for a year. Over the course of these five years, he had made three different moves, and then he finally bought a house and renovated it for a year. He had all his stuff delivered from his other house 5 years earlier.
One morning, his son barged into the office, super curious about some boxes that hadn’t been unpacked. It was filled with his old vision boards. The son, eager to check them out, convinced his old man to crack them open.
When he pulled up the vision board, he saw the most fascinating thing.
There were pictures of homes that the guy had one day dreamed of living in. What blew his mind was that he was living in one of those houses. Not a house like it. The EXACT same house he ambitiously put on his vision board years ago.
He had bought his dream house without even knowing it.
This sounds like fiction, right?
Only, it’s not. It’s a real-life story, and it happened to John Assaraf, an entrepreneur, internationally acclaimed author, lecturer, and business advisor.
Have you read The Secret? It’s a book centred on the powerful concept of the law of attraction, brimming with real-life testimonials from very successful entrepreneurs who credit the law of attraction for changing their lives. Thoughts truly become things.
It stands to reason that every person who’s thinking about a concrete and worthwhile goal is going to reach it because that’s what he is thinking about, and we become what we think about.
Conversely, the person who has no goal, who doesn’t know where they are going and whose thoughts must be of confusion, anxiety, fear and worry, becomes what he thinks about. Their life becomes one of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing, he becomes nothing.
The human mind will return anything we want to plant. Well, you might say, “If that’s true, why don’t people use their minds more?”.
Our mind comes as standard equipment at birth. It’s free, and usually, things that are given to us for nothing we place little value on. Things that we pay money for, we value.
The paradox is that the reverse is true. Everything worthwhile in life comes to us for free. The things that cost us money are actually very cheap and can be replaced at any time but the things we got for nothing, we can never replace.
The human mind isn’t used because we take it for granted. Familiarity breeds contempt. The mind can do any job we assign to it but generally speaking, we use it for little jobs instead of big important ones.
So decide now. Plant your goal in your mind. It’s the most important decision you ever make in your entire life.
Virtually all of us want to become good things. The pursuit of happiness and success is shared among almost everyone in the world. Business owners, specifically, have ambitious goals they’re chasing after. And all of these could come true if we master the law of attraction for business success.
If you’re a small business owner, what are you constantly telling yourself about the future of your business?
The law of attraction proves that for us to succeed, we need to already believe in our ability to be successful.
So if you want to sign 100 clients by the end of the year, you need to visualise these 100 clients. You need to wake up every day like you run a successful business with 100 clients and embody the behaviour of a successful business owner.
Here are 5 practical ways to ensure you are keeping a positive mindset in business:
The Law of Attraction is not useful without hard work and effort. Your dreams won’t work unless you do.
If you want to harness the law of attraction for business success, you must also put in the work.
Believe wholeheartedly that the work you’re putting in will pay off, and it will. If you are proactive about your business, you will be motivated to think good thoughts and improve their business.
Here are two ways to stay proactive:
As you channel the law of attraction for business success, it’s really important to get some clarity on what you want to achieve. Set clear goals, and break them down into smaller tasks.
Monitor your progress daily while reminding yourself what you want to achieve.
This helps you to channel all your energy and attention towards the necessary steps for success, aligning with the law of attraction.
Remember, energy goes where attention flows.
When we stop learning, we stop growing. This saying could not be more true for business.
Things are constantly evolving. Technology, the economic status, the business environment…
If you are to grow your business, you have to be in touch with all of these different dynamics. Embrace new opportunities and acquire new skills.
This will attract business success by opening your mind to a world of possibilities.
Thoughts become things.
So make sure that what you’re thinking constantly is a good thing.
Some of the common negative thoughts in business are:
“But so and so is already doing the same thing..” – Yes, but they’re not you.
“I’ll never be able to compete with them” – You don’t need to. That’s what makes you unique.
“This will never work out.” – How many times have you tried before giving up?
Flip the narrative and change your life.
Here are two tips on how you can challenge your thoughts:
Some of our core beliefs will have us thinking linearly, and this is dangerous for any business owner. Always ask yourself why you hold certain beliefs. What evidence do you have for these assumptions?
Many times, you will find that you have less evidence for your assumptions and more evidence against them.
Sometimes, because of our experiences, skillsets, cultural influences, and professional training, we find ourselves holding lots of stereotypes.
That’s why you may need to engage a third independent party.
This diversity provides alternative ways of thinking that will help you to challenge your thoughts and make more well-rounded decisions.
The way we look at things determines how we feel about them. So to harness the law of attraction for business success, you will need to change your perception.
In business, one thing I can 100% guarantee you is that you will be tested. And it’s in times like these that you’ll need to look at things from a different lens.
When it seems like everything is trying to test you, recognise that once you get over that hurdle you’ll be much stronger and fit to solve bigger issues.
Steve Jobs said, “In most cases strengths and weaknesses are the two sides of the same coin. A strength in one situation is a weakness in another.”
If you have ever done a SWOT analysis, you will realise that your weaknesses can, in most cases, be turned into strengths. Conversely, the threats can create opportunities.
Here are two ways to do this:
Rejection is the (small) price to pay for the ticket to success.
If we can rewire how we see failure, we are bound to be a lot more successful. As Drew Houston once said, “Don’t worry about failure, you only have to be right once.”
This perspective shift can help you develop resilience and a more positive outlook.
Sometimes, we stay narrow-minded because we consume limited information sources all with the same viewpoint. If you can expand your sources of information, you will challenge your perception and think more positively
Read books and articles, and attend events with diverse perspectives on business. Engage with many ideas that can broaden your thinking and challenge narrow perceptions.
Right now, stop everything you’re doing and list 10 things that you’re grateful for in your business.
I bet that at the end of that list, you’ll feel much better about yourself and your accomplishments.
Gratitude is a great way to challenge your negative thoughts. It opens you up to the realisation that you are great and have done many incredible things.
Recognising all the things you’ve done gives you the motivation to do even more.
There’s always something to be grateful for, even in business. If you look deep enough, you will be able to realise how great you are and how much potential you have for the future.
Here’s how to be more grateful for your business:
A lot of times, when something good happens in our businesses, we don’t take the time to bask in that happiness.
One of the best ways to practice gratitude is to celebrate each milestone as it comes. Whether it’s related to completing a project, achieving goals, or event hitting revenue targets, you need to acknowledge and honour your achievements.
It shifts your attitude to think more positively which will ultimately lead you to achieving your business dreams.
One of the best business practices is to keep a gratitude journal. Because of all the highs and lows you experience as a business owner, it helps to jot things down that you are thankful for in your business.
This helps you in reframing your attitude to think more positively and therefore using the law of attraction for business success.
When you wake up every morning, what feelings do you get when you think of all the work that awaits you?
Throughout the day, you should be excited about work. You should be excited to get your hands on new projects and work on them from start to finish.
Always keep in mind that you chose your business or your field because you genuinely enjoy it, so be happy while you work.
Know that if you are unhappy while trying to get something done, the work suffers.
If you can remain happy as you work, that positivity will lead to good things.
How do you stay happy? Here are two ways that I would highly recommend:
Why did you go into business in the first place? If you can tap into those feelings, you’ll find that it’s much easier to think positively about your business.
Think about what your business looks like when its finished. Envision a successful business, and then go after it!
What’s the purpose of your work? Understand the impact that your business has on your clients.
Connect with this broad purpose to push you as you go after each of your goals. It helps if you can write these down in a place that is accessible so that you can constantly remind yourself.
Good thoughts are a prerequisite to business success. No matter how hard it seems, always try to focus on the good things that are happening in your business.
Accomplishing what you set out to do in business is not merely a result of external factors. It is deeply intertwined with one’s mindset and beliefs.
Visualisation, positive thinking, and setting clear intentions can manifest into tangible success.
The more you think about these good things, the more you attract better things. It’s the law of attraction for business success.
To maintain positive thoughts in business, you should:
