Networking-in – Performing Under Pressure

What can we learn from the ongoing Olympics about performing under pressure?

On Wednesday, Emma Canter came along to Networking-in to answer this important question.

The session was great! We celebrated wins, cheered on our raving fans, and learnt a lot about running a business, even when the stakes are high!

Mental strength is not a gift, it comes with work. Champions don’t stay in emotions too long. They experience it, acknowledge it, release it, bounce back and reset.

Emma proved that we need some pressure to perform at our ideal. She shared three things to keep in mind when performing under pressure:

1. Structure – Have a clear purpose, reframe your routines, and measure progress.
2. Skillset – Learn new things and also focus on the familiar.
3. Mindset – Accept the discomfort, engage deliberately, and engage with others.

Where our attention goes, energy follows. The prime issue is control of attention from RED (Diverted attention) to BLUE (On Task).

Up next at Networking-in, we hear from Erica Mackay who will be telling us ‘The 3 step method that will bring clients knocking at your door.’ Check it out here.
